I may write you if it's something important, but the main reason that I ask for the Email address is simple. When you register your password is converted to an unidentifiable format. So if you forget your password, I have no way of telling you what it was. If you hit the "forgot your password?", a new password will be generated and sent to your email address. After which you can go into the "Update Profile" and change it to something that you can easily remember. Since you will fine tune the filters for the tracks you want to see events for, you will not want to 'start over'. In addition, if you want to view your schedule from any machine, you just have to enter your email address and password. Your logon info will be stored as 'cookies', which will bypass the initial screen (if you click the "Remember me" checkbox) and bring you right into your custom schedule, so make sure you allow cookies for this site.

Although I don't require your Last name, I recommend that you do enter it. When you want to schedule events with your Friends, it will be helpful for them to know exactly who you are.
